Finishing Material Handler

Job Summary

Responsible for relocating materials and maintaining product buffers under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Working Leaders.      

Essential Functions

Job Performance

•  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

•  Performs functions per product specifications and/or requirements, according to work order traveler.

•  Reissues and relocate extra materials back into inventory to the appropriate area as directed.

•  Handles parts and material to prevent damage.

•  Works with appropriate tools and equipment. Operates forklift, hand-jack, or other mechanized devices.

•  Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

•  Must be able to obtain/retain a FM forklift certification

•  Meets or exceeds established manufacturing goals.

•  Must maintain work area and equipment in a clean condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

•  Maintains acceptable levels of attendance and punctuality.

•  Must be willing to accept and receive supervision, instructions, and perform other duties as assigned.

•  Maintains safe and clean working environments by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

•  Must adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Entry level position, Must be able to read and communicate in English, Forklift experience preferred, 1 year production/manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

•  Ability to adequately work with appropriate tools and equipment, constantly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

•  Must have Adequate mobility for stooping, bending, lifting, strength and grip requirements necessary to frequently manipulate and/or lift products weighing up to 40 lbs. Frequently required to stand/walk, constantly required to reach with hands and arms. frequently required to sit.

•  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

•  Must wear Safety glasses with side shields in all production areas and hearing protection must always be worn in designated areas.

•  Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, heat and cold temperatures vary according to season.

This position is considered a safety sensitive position due to the manufacturing environment, moving machinery and forklift traffic.
